2025-2026 School Year Calendar Now Available
The Penn-Delco Board of School Directors approved the district calendar for the 2025-2026 school year at its monthly voting meeting on February 26. Families and staff can now view and download the calendar on the PDSD website to begin planning ahead.
Key Highlights
- First Day of School – Most students will begin the new school year on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the day after Labor Day.
- Weather & Flexible Instruction Days – The calendar includes 180 instructional days and ensures the district meets state-mandated instructional hours, even in the event of emergency closures. Flexible Instructional Days will continue as an option to reduce the need for makeup days.
- Thanksgiving Break Adjustment – Schools will now be closed on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, giving families more time to balance conferences, instruction, and holiday preparations. (Twelve-month employees may use a personal or vacation day to extend the break.)
- Winter Break & Staff In-Service – Friday, January 2, 2026, is designated as a Staff In-Service Day, but a flexible professional learning option will allow eligible staff to complete required hours in advance and extend winter break.
- Last Day of School – The final day for students is scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2026.
Stay tuned for additional details, including Back to School Night dates and Flex Learning options. In the meantime, we hope this overview helps as you plan for the upcoming school year!
