Aston 5th Graders Give Back
Students in our 5th grade classrooms are flying high this week - not just because the Philadelphia Eagles are heading to the NFC Championship game, but because they’ve taken part in a meaningful service project benefiting children in need.
Sporting their favorite Eagles gear for Spirit Day, the students worked on Crafts for Fun Bags as part of an initiative organized by The Giving Tree. These special activity bags, filled with crafts and activities, will be distributed to children in afterschool programs, camps, and shelters throughout the Philadelphia region.
The service project is part of Project Impact, an initiative funded by a grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. The program provides free service-learning opportunities to students in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, teaching lessons of kindness, empathy, and social responsibility.
As excitement builds for Sunday’s big game, our 5th graders are showing what true champions look like: compassionate, community-focused, and ready to make an impact.
